The ‘pious’ or ‘sanyasin’ form of Goddess Durga which is Goddess Brahmacharini, is worshipped on the second day of Navratri festival. Her severe penance (tapa) defines the loyalty and love for lord Shiva. ‘Brahma’ refers to the tapa that Maa Brahmacharini performed for thousands of years without even consuming food for achieving Shiv Ji as her consort (husband). How will this puja be done by Shubhpuja?
The puja is performed by our experienced Vedic Scholars, who have been practising for years. The idol of Goddess is adorned with flowers, especially lotus along with panchamrit, kumkum and chawal. The kalash estabilished on the first day is worshipped offering sandalwood and rice in it. Then aarti is performed and prasadam is offered which includes paan supari in it along with other edibles. The nine day festival falls in the Ashwin month of Hindu calendar during the onset of winters generally in October or November. This puja is performed on the second day of navratri to mark the hearty welcome of Ma Durga and her blessings at our homes.
